Beta privacy note / 30 September 2026
A quieter way to practise.
This is a plain-language beta draft, not final legal advice. It must be reviewed and replaced with a formal privacy notice before inviting real children or using clinical data.
What we store
When you create an account, Speakstead stores your email address, display name, a hashed password, and sign-in sessions. If you create a learner space, it stores the learner’s first name or nickname, age band, practice plan, consent record, completed practice sessions, and caregiver check-ins.
What we do not store yet
The current beta does not record, upload, or retain voice audio. It is not a diagnosis, does not replace an SLP, and does not make clinical decisions.
Child and learner spaces
Learner spaces are created and managed by an adult account. We collect an age band rather than an exact date of birth. Practice should follow the plan provided by a qualified professional, and an adult can pause a learner space by withdrawing consent.
Your controls
- Download the account, learner, plan, session, consent, and check-in data stored by Speakstead.
- Withdraw learner consent, which pauses new learner practice and archives the plan.
- Delete the account and associated product data after confirming the password.
Before public launch
Speakstead still needs a reviewed retention schedule, support contact, email-provider terms, formal consent language, account recovery safeguards, and clinical/privacy review. We will publish those details here before beta data is treated as production data.
